What age group will my child be eligible for?
To make it simple which ever age group you child played in in the 2010winter season is the age group the will play for at the AFS. For example, if you child played Under 14's for their winter club, they will be eligible to player Under 14's in the AFS Summer Program. This is because this year the program finishes before the end of the year.
What if my child is selected to play in the FFV Summer League?
The FFV has yet to announce the training dates and matchdays for the 2010-20101season. We will do our best to schedule training dates and match days to allow players to play in both programs (subject to venue availability in each zone). Our match days will be played on Saturday afternoons starting on Saturday 19 September 2009
Do I need to attend all trial sessions at the zone?
It is in your best interest, the more our coaches see you the better chance you will have to be selected.
Why haven't we received any confirmation of trials taking place?
The trials scheduled has not being finalised yet, it will be posted on this website by September. Emails and SMS will be sent to the details you provide when you register online.
I have missed the trials, can I still join the AFS?
If there are spots available in your zone and in your age group, you can still join, this will need to be approved by the zone's technical director. Please email

When do I need to pay by?
Existing players are required to pay at the time of registration to confirm their spot. New players will need to be first selected before they can pay. Payments that are made after this date will incur a 10% late payment fee.
You can obtain the payment details from the registration page.
When do I get my uniform?
All apparel will be distributed before or during the first two weeks of the program. Apparel will only be handed out to those players that have made payment arrangements for their fees.
When will I know whether I have been accepted?
All players will be notified whether they have been successful or not by email before 8 September 2009. Please make sure that you have provided us with the correct email address and check your email daily (ensure you check your junk mail folder just in case).
Where will the rounds of matches be held? Will there be a lot of travel?
Fixtures will be released once all the teams in all the zones are finalised. As it is a Victoria-wide program, all teams will be required to travel to different metro and country regions.
We will do our best to provide an even amount of home and away games to suit all teams.
Do you have teams for girls? If so, what age groups? If not, can my daughter play in a boy's team? (is there a cut-off age group)?
We offer the following age groups for girls:
- Junior Girls Under 13
- Intermediate Girls Under 15
- Youth Girls (U16 to U19)
If there are not enough girls to form any of the age groups, they will be placed in other suitable teams (this could be in other girls’ teams or in one of the boys’ teams).
This will have to be decided by the zone head coach and will be treated on a case by case basis.
How do you select players in the AFS representative teams for interstate/international tournaments? Are there costs involved?
All AFS players are eligible to be selected in their respective AFS representative team. Players will be judged on their overall performance, behaviour and commitment at training and games.
There will be selectors present at most games and especially during the major tournaments (Futsal and AFS State Championships).
Coaches and head coaches will also recommend players to the selection committee.
All tours have costs associated with them to cover travel, tournament fees, apparel and preparation for the tournament. These costs will be different for each touring squad.
