Please note the following as it will ensure that your kids are getting the most out of the program, it will benefit them more than anyone. Also note that some of the points stated here are also referenced in the parents' code of conduct you agreed to when registering your child in the program. - Do not Coach your child during training sessions and games (that's what the coaches are there for, it sends mixed messages to the players creating confusion)
- Do not interfere with training sessions, stay clear of training areas. (makes the coaches' job easier)
- Cheer on and encourage the players at all times (even the opposition, applaud good football all-round)
- Winning at all costs isn't everything (we're here to develop the players, at this age learning is more important than winning)
- Learn the rules, accept decissions and never ever argue with a referee.
- Never swear or abuse a coach, referee or official (set the example for your child)
- Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
- Encourage children to participate, do not force them.
- Encourage children to always participate according to the rules.
- Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.
- Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
- Respect the facilities that are being used in partnership with the program, all venues are non smoking and alcohol free zones.
- Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
